REVIEW OF INTERNET SERVICES CONTAINING PRO- AND ANTI-HEALTH CONTENTIN THE CONTEXT OF EATING DISORDERS Summary

Summary
The article takes up the subject of the infl uence of media on shaping the image of the modern woman, particularly taking into account the adolescence period. It shows the consequences of succumbing to the infl uences of pop culture, in this, health consequences such as eating disorders (anorexia, bulimia nervosa). At the same time it shows the change of the media’s role currently taking place – the change from promoters of unhealthy role models in the direction of promoting a healthy model of the female body. The authors emphasise the role of Internet services dedicated to eating disorders, simultaneously accenting their role both in shaping pro-health, as well as anti-health behaviour. The role of Internet messages has been emphasised by an analysis of the adolescence period in the context of Erik H.Erikson’s psychosocial concept of development and Albert Bandura’s theories of behaviour modelling.
