THE INFLUENCE OF POLAND’S ACCESS TO THE EUROPEAN UNION ON A DUTY FREE ZONE IN SZCZECIN
Summary
In many countries fi rms can run a production or trade business under particularly favourable conditions – in created specially for this purpose zones – namely duty free zones, which have very successful for many years both in the European Union and Poland.
The paper presents general rules for free trade zones functioning during the transformation period in Poland. The particular emphasis has been put on legal solutions in force before 1 May 2004 and changes that have taken place after Poland’s access to the European Union. It also analyses so far effects of Szczecin Duty Free Zone and its development prospects.
