Streszczenie:
Cel – przedstawienie metody prowadzenia samooceny kontroli zarządczej w Akademii Morskiej w Gdyni (AMG), a także zaprezentowanie wyników samooceny na Wydziale Przedsiębiorczości i Towaroznawstwa (WPiT) AMG w latach 2012–2014. Metodologia badania – analizie poddano akty prawne oraz piśmiennictwo dotyczące samooceny prowadzonej w ramach kontroli zarządczej, a także wyniki samooceny prowadzonej przez kierownictwo oraz pracowników WPiT AMG w latach 2012–2014. Wynik – w wyniku przeprowadzonych badań stwierdzono, że w opinii zarówno kierownictwa, jak i pracowników WPiT AMG kontrola zarządcza funkcjonuje prawidłowo, a stopień wdrożenia standardów jest z każdym rokiem wyższy. Stopień realizacji standardów kontroli zarządczej jest wyżej oceniany przez kierownictwo niż pracowników WPiT AMG. Oryginalność/wartość – wartością opracowania jest porównanie opinii kierownictwa oraz pracowników WPiT AMG dotyczącej stopnia wdrożenia kontroli zarządczej, wskazanie obszarów wymagających doskonalenia oraz silnych stron tego systemu.

SELF-ASSESSMENT AS AN ASSESSMENT METHOD OF FUNCTIONING OF MANAGEMENT CONTROL IN THE FACULTY OF ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND QUALITY SCIENCE IN THE GDYNIA MARITIME UNIVERSITY
Abstract:
Purpose – the purpose of this article was to present the method of self-assessment of management control conducted in the Gdynia Maritime University as well as the results of self-assessment conducted in the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Quality Science in the Gdynia Maritime University (WPiT AMG) in 2012–2014. Design/methodology/approach – legal acts and literature concerning self-assessment of control management were analysed, as well as the results of self-assessment carried out by management and employees of WPiT AMG in 2012–2014. Findings – the results of the study showed that in the opinion of both, management and employees of the WPiT AMG, management control is functioning properly, and the level of the standards implementation is higher every year. The level of standards implementation is higher in the opinion of the management than employees of WPiT AMG. Originality/value – the value of the study is the comparison of management’s and employees of WPiT AMG opinions about the level of the management control implementation, identifying areas for improvement and strengths of the system.
