Streszczenie
Innowacyjność jest wyznacznikiem procesów transformacyjnych i rozwoju każdego kraju. Już od wielu lat innowacje postrzegane są jako priorytetowe źródło konkurencyjności, wzrostu gospodarczego oraz zatrudnienia. Szybkie tempo rozwoju rynków, przede wszystkim obecna konkurencja międzynarodowa, ukierunkowane jest na pogoń za wyższą jakością i nowoczesnością, dlatego też znaczenie innowacji w formowaniu nowoczesnej gospodarki w ostatnim czasie nie znajduje równego sobie. Przedmiotem niniejszego artykułu jest kwestia innowacyjności polskiej gospodarki, którą rozważa się w kontekście teorii ekonomii oraz rozwoju społecznogospodarczego.

Summary
Innovation is the indicator of the transformation processes and economic development of each country. For many years innovation is regarded as a main source of competitiveness, economic growth and employment. The fast tempo of market development and the current international competitiveness is aimed on the pursuit of higher quality and modernity, therefore the importance of innovation in the modern economy formation is difficult to overestimate now. The issue of this article is the Polish economy innovation, which is considered in the context of economic theory and socio-economic development
