SPOT AND INTERVAL PREDICTION OF PASSENGER TRAFFIC IN BALTIC FERRY SHIPPING IN 2008–2010
Summary
The subject of the article was prediction of passenger traffi c in Baltic ferry shipping. The passenger traffi c between Polish and Scandinavian Sea Ports in years 2008–2010 was determined in the article. Forecasting process was based on the analysis of passenger traffi c in years 2001–2007. There were increasing trends of passenger ferry shipping in that period. The number of passengers increased by 33,7% in the year 2007 compared to the year 2001. Thanks to the regularity of growing tendency that was observed, there were acceptable forecasts determined. Author used statistic methods of spot and interval prediction.
