Streszczenie:
W niniejszym artykule poruszone zostały kwestie związane z polskim rynkiem fuzji i przejęć. W pierwszej części został scharakteryzowany rozwój polskiego rynku fuzji i przejęć w okresie 1989–2013. Analiza dotyczyła zarówno ilości, jak i wartości zawartych transakcji. Ponadto zostali wskazaniu uczestnicy rynku fuzji i przejęć, a także otoczenie konkurencyjne w stosunku do rynku polskiego. W drugiej części artykułu zostały wskazane perspektywy jego rozwoju i możliwe tendencje w kolejnych latach. Po przedstawieniu motywów, którymi kierują się sprzedający oraz kupujący w procesach fuzji i przejęć, zostały przedstawione spodziewane trendy na rynku.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE POLISH MARKET OF MERGERS AND ACQUISITIONS AND PROSPECTS OF ITS DEVELOPMENT
Abstract:
Most of transactions of mergers and acquisitions do not bring expected results to the buyers. Taking into account worldwide the value and an number of transactions, which is about 45,000 deals per year with USD 2.5 trillion, market of mergers and acquisition is an important part of the global economy. This paper reviews the Polish market of mergers and acquisitions. The first part of the article describes the development of the Polish market of mergers and acquisitions in the period of 1989–2013. The analysis presets both the number and the value of transactions. In addition, market participants of Polish mergers and acquisitions were indicated as well as the competitive environment in relation to the Polish market. The second part of the article indicates the prospects of its development and possible trends in the coming years. After the presentation of the motives that guide the seller and the buyer in the process of mergers and acquisitions. Finally, expected market trends have been presented.
