THE CHANCES FOR AN INCREASE IN THE ECONOMIC IMPORTANCE OF THE ODER RIVER; ACTION PROGRAMS AND CHANGES IN THE ECONOMY

Abstract
The article presents activities and actions of the public authorities related to the Oder River, especially programs of restoring and enhancing its transport function. Statistics illustrate progressive regression. It is a starting point for the discussion on the necessity and feasibility of the reversion of the marginalization of inland waterways transport in Poland and Europe.
