Opracowanie traktuje o teoretycznych zagadnieniach dotyczących giełd towarowych. Przedstawienie definicji oraz sposobów klasyfikacji giełd towarowych poprzedza opis funkcji, jakie giełdy towarowe pełnią we współczesnej gospodarce. Od ogólnego spojrzenia na problematykę uwaga zostaje przeniesiona na grunt polskiej rzeczywistości. Zaprezentowano uwarunkowania prawne oraz wymieniono czynniki wpływające na poziom rozwoju giełd towarowych.

Commodity exchange – the history, principles and rule in the modern economy
Abstract
The thesis is concerned with theoretical aspects of the commodity exchanges. Firstly, there are presented the definitions and the commodity exchanges classification. After that there are mentioned the main goals for keeping the commodity exchanges in contemporary economy. At the end there are some issues about polish commodity market.
