FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT IN THE MODERNIZATION OF COUNTRY DEVELOPMENT
Summary
The role of Foreign Direct Investment has been presented in this article. The paper shows the determinants of FDI and the various forms of capital in the economy. Market transformation processes taking place in the Polish economy and its strive for integration with the European Union create the necessity and the need for search and implementation of new concepts within the scope of development of new economic suction mechanisms (capital absorption capacity). The category of capital (level, structure, sources, patterns, cost) definitely needs be numbered among such instruments as it serves an important role in the process of country developing. The process involving the establishment of new enterprises and continuous development of competitiveness thereof, which in turn determines their development opportunities on short-term and long-term scale, requires considerable financial outlays for research and launch of new products and technologies.
