STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF FEMALE WORK TIME AND VALUE DISTRIBUTION
Summary
This paper discusses the scale and directions of the labour mobility in the European Union after the two recent enlargements. The author reviews the relevant determinants of migration decisions and the role of transitional arrangements regarding the labour market access for workers from Central and East European EU Member States. Furthermore, the analysis explores the interdependencies of the economic conditions observed in the sending and receiving countries. The results indicate a distinct increase in migration from the New Member States into the EU15 countries and provide a remarkable evidence of the impact of transitional rules on the quantitative and geographic diversion of migration flows.
