Artykuł koncentruje się na kilku zasadniczych kwestiach. Punktem wyjścia jest idea interwencjonizmu gospodarczego w teorii ekonomii. Na tym tle wskazano specyfikę interwencji w gospodarkę lokalną. Przedstawiono zasadnicze przyczyny i cele, które powodują, że interwencja na poziomie lokalnym jest uzasadniona. W konkluzji podjęto próbę oceny skuteczności interwencji jednostek samorządu terytorialnego w gospodarkę w Polsce.

This provides a backdrop for showing the specificity of intervention in the local economy. The major causes and goals that justify intervention at the local level are presented in the article. Its final part is an attempt at evaluating the effectiveness of local governments’ economic interventions in Poland.
