Summary
Business combinations are quite important phenomena in the present economy, very often identified with mergers and acquisitions. The purpose of the paper is to identify the essence of business combination, throughout analyzing definitions given in the Polish and selected international regulations as well as the comparison of the meaning of the term in comparison to other terms with similar meaning.
